Gauntlet Update: June 10th, 2022

Hi everybody, it’s been a few weeks since we had an article-based update, so here is what we have been up to…

Client Update

We finally reached the point where the GAU client is connected to the blockchain! We have also added WalletConnect to enable users to log in using their crypto wallets. Our next step is to add the code necessary to display the balances of connected wallets, show addresses as usernames, make some styling, and other display elements.

We are really close to completing this release, and as soon as it’s ready, we will release it for you guys to test. To showcase some of the results for you, we attach a series of screenshots to clue you in on our progress. We will have a more detailed release for the community at the end of the month which will see Version 2 of the client released. Thank you for your patience and for bearing with us!

Just so that you can follow the client screenshots below, the wallet connect and disconnect buttons will be one button. It will not only be more seamless it will look better in the app.

This update means the blockchain is now connected to the client, and you will be able to log in with your desired wallet.

We will now proceed to make it more stable and secure. Then we will add an option to read balances and addresses from the chain. This will mean that the username will be your qualifying wallet address and your GAU address will exhibit your balances.

We will use Coinbase for BTC balances but this may change depending on security and scalability. BTC may interchange to BNB or completely change to BNB, we will finalize this by the end of the month.

Quarter Deliverables

We are meeting our quarter deliverables as outlined on the Roadmap which you can see on our website by clicking here. We will discuss these in detail in the update at the end of the month (Q2 Completion)

A Final Word of Realism & Optimism

We have undertaken a huge project, one that I think many may have thought we would have covered many milestones a lot faster than we have however, saying this, we have been relentless in continuing our vision for Gauntlet throughout the past year and a half, perhaps even two years now. The crypto market has changed and morphed into another beast with many other peripheral technologies spinning from it namely, IPFS advancements, increases in Defi and GameFi applications and of course the whole world of NFT’s.

We are under no illusion that this space is moving at a rapid rate however our vision is still unique and we can easily incorporate other technologies into our business seamlessly as we proceed and as the market changes. This is the beautiful thing about blockchain and all other distributed and decentralized technology, it’s growing, getting better and better all the time. Web3 is here and it will slowly push Web2 out of the way. The team at Gauntlet is a very small but committed team of two core leaders and a small team of advisors who also have their own individual commitments.

They still remain excited for what is to come. We are moving daily towards our goal of a PTE (Play To Earn) feature and will focus to get this done by the next quarter. We will then be in a working position to present and collaborate with bigger communities and supporting individuals who will help us get to where we want to be. We want to thank you for your continued support and I will ask you to keep watching this space.

Until our next update
